Tickets sold first come, first served the day of the tour.
Brewery tours last one hour. History of the founding family and of the brewery itself is covered, and the tour ends with an assorted beer and 1919 root beer sampling in our Rathskellar Tap Room.
Tours do go outside to see some areas of the brewery and steps are involved. Please note that tours do not go into all areas of production due to safety regulations. You will view one of our bottling lines and you will view our original copper brew kettle.
Tour tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis the day of the tour. We do not take reservations for tours.
COST: $5.00 – children 12 & under free
PLEASE NOTE – We try to accommodate as many people as possible, but TOURS MAY SELL OUT.
WE WILL BE CHECKING ID’s.
Private group tours may be arranged, but times are very limited. Private tours must be booked well in advance by calling us at 507-354-5528.
There is limited parking on our brewery grounds. There is no turnaround in our parking lot for large motorhomes and campers.
August Schell Museum of Brewing
The Starkeller brewing facility is located off site from our brewery grounds at 2215 N. Garden St., New Ulm, MN 56073. The Starkeller is home to our Noble Star line of sour beers. You can purchase these by the glass, flight or bottle. Hours: Fridays: 4-9 Saturdays: 2-9. Phone:507-359-7827.
