JOB TITLE: Wisconsin Distributor Sales Manager

REPORTS TO: VP of Sales and Marketing

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Salaried Exempt

This position will secure new business in the state of Wisconsin via direct sales and further develop existing business via promotional execution and merchandising activities of the assigned distribution network. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Understanding brand programming and communicating to distributors, specifically provide expertise and communication/leadership on portfolio management strategies, brand priorities, sales strategies, go-to-market pricing strategies and chain selling execution
• Monthly forecasting of beer orders and ensure distributor partner places correct orders on time
• Ensure the implementation of all sales and marketing programs and materials for the entire portfolio
• Motivate distributor sales force to achieve sales objectives
• Development of weekly/monthly/trimester/annual plan and active in-market implementation/execution/evaluation
• Use VIP reports to maintain knowledge of current sales trends and inventory
• Conduct trimester meetings with distributor partners to ensure sales goals are met
• Conduct thorough ROI analysis on all sales/promotional programs
• Work with the National Account Manager to assure our National/Local chain programs get tracked, communicated, executed and the results are measured.
• Achieve and Maintain ASBC retail standards while adhering to ASBC marketing and overall company visions.
• Ensure quality standards for ASBC brands are understood and maintained by distributors for best possible freshness to consumers.
• Focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of product lines in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores)
• Identify accounts that are not being penetrated with ASBC products and develop a plan to establish business with such accounts
• Accountable for analysis, segmentation and development of target account list for ASBC brands-implement a strategy to succeed within assigned distributors
•Conduct wait-staff / bartender educations, beer tastings and beer dinners
• Ensure proper merchandising of on- and off-premise accounts
• Plan and execute on-premise promotions as required (note: evenings; weekend festivals) 
• Develop and maintain close relationships with key accounts both on and off-premise.
• Execute ASBC retail standards and ensure distributor compliance to standard
• Be responsible for the allocation and use of point-of-sale materials
• Collect data (e.g. pricing, distribution) as required
• Compile and submit reports required for the sales division
• Operate effectively within corporate and budgetary guidelines
• Track and monitor progress in all identified accounts
• Observe all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising and promotion of malt beverages

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• two to three years of beer business experience
• Ability to interface with various levels of management, at wholesale as well as retail
• Self-motivation and ability to work with limited amount of direction; ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to speak in front of large groups, conduct trainings/promotions

JOB TITLE: Marketing Manager

REPORTS TO: VP of Sales and Marketing

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Marketing Manager is a dynamic leader, skilled communicator, and market pursuer, who leads a team into the next generation of a company achieving 156-years of operations in the face of a prolific competitive market.  Guided by our values of quality, integrity, respect and your ability to share the story and embracing the heritage of August Schell Brewing Company for the future, is the most essential component to success in this position.

The Marketing Manager will report directly to the VP of Sales and Marketing and work closely with the President, VP of Operations, Sales Team, Accounting Team, and Events Manager. This position will create and execute marketing strategies to achieve a strong growth plan for the next several years. The Marketing Director is responsible for communications, brand building, public relations, on-site event marketing, and financial management of resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:
• Leads and supervises Marketing team members

  • Pivotal in the design and execution of an annual marketing plan
    • Determine products, support timing and pricing for POS and merchandise materials
    • Works with Production, Graphic Design and Sales to develop new beer products, packaging, pricing, distribution and promotion
    • Provides developmental support and assists with execution, working with Events Manager
    • Develops and executes annual media plan
    • Is responsible and assesses and selects media outlets (digital, print, video, and radio), including social media
    • Fiscal budget planning and monitoring expenses
    • Creates and/or oversees communications to build awareness, create an image of difference, gain coverage and build brand loyalty on four levels: consumers, community, distributor network, and media contacts
    • Works with VP of Sales and Marketing, Events Manager and Sales Staff to develop new POS and merchandise
    • Assesses and creates strategic B2B and community partnerships as well as corporate sponsorships.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. Master’s preferred.

Experience
•   At least five years of progressively responsible, relevant marketing leadership
•    Prior experience as Marketing Director or similar strongly preferred
•    Experience in consumable products preferred
•    Team management experience and team building required

  • Progressive levels of social media experience required
    Excellent marketing operations/project management experience
    •    Exceptional knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts and practices
    •    Exceptional ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects within deadlines
    •    Strong analytical, technical and process-improvement skills

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven track recorded of effective design and consumer brand building
    • Working knowledge of the craft brewing industry

Working Conditions

Job Title: Graphic Print Designer

Work Location:  New Ulm, MN

Position Type:  Full-Time, Non-exempt hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Effectively support the design, printing and finishing of signage requested by the sales and marketing team members while meeting key deadlines.
  • Optimize processes and policies for sign requests, both standard vs. customized.
  • Coordinate outsourcing efforts when applicable for special circumstances, events, large runs, etc.
  • Establish/maintain quality goals and ensure timely and effective communication of job status.
  • Ensure brand templates, artwork, and standards are regularly maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of material usage and sign costs.
  • Ensure sign and design trackers are being maintained and updated in a timely fashion.
  • Drive awareness of and compliance to Minnesota liquors laws, identify issues and offer ideas.

JOB TITLE: Marketing Communications and Support Intern

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time (20-30 hours/week) Nonexempt-hourly

Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the development & delivery of company communication strategies
  • Thinks both strategically and tactically about the communication project overall
  • Provide support with internal communications and messaging (memos, newsletters etc.)

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN 

Overview: A Laboratory Technician is responsible for all in-process testing of required samples. The Quality Manager will prepare a list of samples with testing requirements. The Lab Technician will take great care in handling the samples, accurately performing assays, and timely data submission.

Hours: Varies, 40-45 hours per week, 5 days a week, must be available to work Saturday or Sunday

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be mobile and able to maneuver up and down several flights of grated steps.

Responsibilities:

  • ATP Swab to ensure cleanliness.
  • Calibrate various laboratory instruments and ensure calibration is maintained throughout the day by running check samples.
  • Do dishes and maintain a very clean laboratory work environment.
  • Run autoclave, as needed, throughout the day. Make sure there are sufficient sterile dishes to perform daily tasks.
  • Prepare media per media recipes. Pour media plates, as needed.
  • Collect samples throughout the brewery. Ensure all samples have been collected and/or delivered, and all required testing has been performed, daily.
  • Perform microbial testing on daily samples. This includes membrane filtering, swabbing, various plating techniques, and Petrifilm plating.
  • Read plates and phenotype samples using microscopy and staining techniques.
  • Perform quality control tests throughout the brewery including pasteurizer testing, seam checks on cans, bottle torque tests, fill volume checks, etc.
  • Perform daily sensory analysis on beer.
  • Perform various analytical analyses on beer and wort samples. Preference given to those who have experience with wet chemistry techniques, spectrophotometric assays, GC, and PCR.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary laboratory environment. The lab is used for micro analysis as well as chemical analysis. Sterility is very important!
  • Data Entry.

Additional Skills:

  • Exhibit superior communication skills. Must be able to work in a team setting and independently on assigned projects.
  • Applicant must exhibit the following personal attributes: great at multitasking, a sense of urgency, work efficiently and effectively, good moral conduct and honest.
  • Experience in a production setting adhering to GLP and GMP.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Preference will be given to those with Microbiology or Chemistry degrees.
  • 1-2 years laboratory experience.
  • Brewery experience preferred. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft beer and the brewing industry.
