JOB TITLE: On/Off-Premise Sales Rep
LOCATION: Twin Cities Western Metro

REPORTS TO: Distributor Sales Manager Twin Cities

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Salaried Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY

An authentic interest and ability to build meaningful relationships through great craft beer by sharing the story and embracing the heritage of August Schell Brewing Company is the most essential component to success in this position. The person in this role will call on retailers and support distributors in the defined area. They will work in a coordinated effort with distributor sales teams. This person will be regularly engaged in conversations with retailers and distributors on beer styles and industry trends. We are looking for someone who can consistently achieve company business plan goals, including volume, distribution and profitability.  Strong organization and time management skills are also needed to effectively manage the workload for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Observes and enhances the “Safety First” culture of August Schell Brewery
  • Plan and execute On and Off Premise promotions including both small and large scale events.
    • Minimum of 4 On Premise and 4 Off Premise are required monthly.
  • Obtains orders from On and Off Premise accounts in conjunction with distributor representatives.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with On and Off Premise accounts in area.
  • Sell in and conduct training programs with retailers, restaurateurs, and consumers on all aspects of Schell’s products.
  • Assume a leadership role in implementing key brewery initiatives with distributors, retailers, and restaurateurs in defined area.
  • Assist Lead Brewery Representative in communicating Breweries objectives, policies, and procedures with distributor partners.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating information with distributor partners in order to keep product fresh and relevant.
  • Conduct required in-field work with sessions with distributor representatives.
  • Ensure that the Brewery’s quality standards are clearly understood and enforced by distributors and retailers.
  • Use data systems to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in overseeing and managing a personal and professional calendar, with particular attention to balancing multiple deadlines at any given time.
  • Ensure proper use of available legal point of sale items throughout territory.
  • Assist Lead Brewery Representative in communicating sales data and market relevant insights with distributor partners.
  • Attend all Regional & Brewery Sales team meetings as requested.
  • Responsible to turn in weekly accountability worksheet in a timely manner.
  • Review and understand all legal restrictions regarding Brewery product in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend and extended workdays are necessary.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision – self- motivated
  • High level of craft beer product knowledge
  • Excellent oral, analytical, written, and group presentation communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and sales skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot draft issues
  • Passion for Craft Beer

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of industry experience selling craft beer.
  • Strong knowledge of the local market for craft beer.
  • In depth knowledge of, and direct experience in, the craft beer scene in this geography.
  • Live in Western Metro or surrounding area.

  • Primarily work will be done in home office, while traveling, and also in business accounts.

JOB TITLE: Social Media Specialist
Position Type: Full-time

JOB OVERVIEW

Are you enthusiastic? Energetic? Does it take an extreme amount of willpower not to crack a joke? We are looking for a Social Media Specialist who can also assist with our external and internal communications around the brewery. You will promote a positive public image, provide insights, and assist customers with questions on our company’s behalf. Experience in social media communications; support the marketing initiatives and strategies, with a primary focus on social media communication. A passion for our beer brands, the ability to formulate good puns, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude are all required to foster a high performing team environment. You think we are kidding about the puns, but it’s actually a pretty big deal to have a sense of humor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties could include, but may not be limited to:

  • Conceptualize and execute unique content for all brand platforms using the appropriate voice and tone
  • Create schedules of social media posts within the terms of the overall social media strategy
  • Make people laugh through your writing and engage the audience you reach
  • Respond to consumer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Track, analyze, and report on key engagement metrics and performance standards
  • Contribute to the development & delivery of company communication strategies
  • Provide support with internal communications and messaging (team correspondence, newsletters etc.)
  • Execute external communications that uphold our high-quality brewery standards
  • Assist the marketing and sales teams with materials, POS distribution, and special events
  • Collaborate with marketing professionals to produce creative copy for advertisements or articles
  • Effectively convey communication of strategies and messaging from senior leadership
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work environment

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA in marketing, public relations, communications, or a relevant field
  • Experience in social media content production for a company
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, social media for businesses, and photoshop
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written) and group presentation skills
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
  • Proficient command of English, with an emphasis in comedic linguistics (okay that’s not real, but bring the laughs!)
